Clinique 3 Step Review

I recently came to the conclusion that I need to start to look after my skin and I have just started to use the Clinique 3 Step Skin Care products.  To be honest I did not have a clue where to start so I had a consultation with one of the Clinique therapists in Boots who pointed me in the right direction.

When selecting products from the Clinique 3 Step System, I would recommend having a consultation so that you know exactly what products would be the most beneficial for your skin type.  Whether you have dry, oily, acne prone or combination skin then there is a Clinique 3 Step Skin Care routine that will work for you.

If you are thinking about purchasing any of the items in the Clinique 3 Step range then you may find it useful to watch my YouTube video - Clinique 3 Step Review and also my follow up Clinique 3 Step Review video.

When I was younger I had particularly acne prone skin and suffered with sore, spotty, red patches on my face for years which always made me conscious.  I eventually grew out of it as I got older, but still now do not feel I have the 'perfect' complexion (whatever that may be!)  In fact, up until recently my skin was dry around my hairline, acne prone around my chin, nose and oily on my T-Zone.  Therefore, had I purchased any of the Clinique 3 Step items without any advice then I probably would have made the mistake of going for the products formulated for a  'dry' skin type when I actually require those for 'oily' skin.

The products that I purchased and feature in my Clinique 3 Step Review are:

Step 1 Clinique Liquid Facial Soap 200ml £15.50
Step 2 Clinique Clarifying Lotion 400ml £25
Step 3 Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel 125ml £29.50
Then: Sun-protector and Primer Clinique City Block Sheer SPF25 £17

The Clinique Liquid Facial Soap foams up really easily without having to use any more than one 'pump' worth and it does not dry out your skin.  Use it first thing in the morning and after taking your make up off at night.  The Liquid Facial Soap prepares your skin for using Step 2 which is the Clarifying Lotion. Prior to using the Clinique skin care products, my face would feel tight after using a facial wash or scrub.  After using the Clinique Liquid Facial Wash my face feels really clean, invigorated and certainly not tight.

I purchased the 400ml Clarifying Lotion as it worked out better value for money.  i can already tell that it is going to last me for ages!  Apply a small amount of Clinique Clarifying Lotion to a Cotton Wool pad and gently wipe over your face and neck, taking care to avoid your eyes and lips.  I had no idea what a Clarifying Lotion actually was previously and always thought that toners were a little bit pointless.  Now that I have tried the Clinique Clarifying Lotion I take all of this back and find that it really does soothe my skin and makes it feel refreshed.  It almost feels as though by using the Clarifying Lotion my skin feels even cleaner!

The final step is to use the Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel.  I used to always be a little apprehensive about using any moisturiser, probably because my skin has a tendency to get so oily.  The Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturing Gel is so light and easily absorbed that my skin feels literally like it has quenched its thirst without my pores feeling clogged up.  What is more is that it smells absolutely divine - almost as if I have just been to have a professional facial.

Although it is not part of the Clinique 3 Step Skin Care System, I also purchased the City Block SPF25.  Use this after you have used the Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel and before applying your foundation. It gives your skin protection from damage caused by sun exposure that can occur every day even if you are not literally laying on the beach.  I find that the City Block works as an excellent primer giving an even, lightweight coverage.

I am delighted with the results of the Clinique 3 Step system and I feel that the products are definitely worth investing in.  I know how important it can be to have skin that you are happy with and I hope that this review helps if you are looking to make a change to your skin care routine.

Remember that products alone cannot give you great skin, they can just help you along the way.  I cannot stress enough the importance of drinking plenty of water throughout every day.  Without this you will never have the skin that you strive for.

Skin is also influenced by so many different factors including hormones and stress, which if affect you considerably then you should consult your GP. There is always something or someone that can help to make you feel better about your skin and it is not an issue that should upset you or get you down.

I hope that you found my review of the Clinique 3 Step skin care products useful.  If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to comment below.
